WHERE HAVE ALL THE OVER 50's GONE?

The UK has seen one million people, mostly in their 50s, leave work since the start of the Covid-19 outbreak.

Some of our best staff have always been mature men and women. People whose children have grown up leaving them free to offer support to another generation.

There has now sadly been an exodus of over-50s from the workforce.

This started during the Covid pandemic.

Perhaps that cohort felt more vulnerable to the virus.

Or perhaps they turned round and felt they didn’t need to work.

Either way their absence is sorely missed.

It leaves a gap in resource.

And it is now massively fuelling wage inflation.
